Aman Aheer (b. 1992) lives and works in London. Drawing on movements such as Arte Povera and Neo-Tantra, Aheer’s practice functions as a distortion of the tradition of painting. His work incorporates irregular materials like waste, iron, and textile to consider questions of failure, divinity, and split subjectivity. Aheer received his BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and his work has been exhibited globally, including most recently at the Dystopia Biennale in Berlin (2024). His public sculpture, The Middle, produced in collaboration with King’s College London, was exhibited on the Strand in the winter of 2024. Recent solo exhibitions include Twin (Chapter 6, Shanghai 2024); body double (indigo + madder, London 2023); and Man is Not a Bird (St. Peter’s Church, Cambridge 2022). Selected group exhibitions include Votive (Hypha Studios, London 2024); Item Number (Rajiv Menon Contemporary, Los Angeles 2023); Hope (Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George 2022); and The Glass Bead Game (MAMOTH, London 2021).
